EGO Talk— Are You Lesser Than or Greater Than?

Posted on Updated on

Can your ego hold your soul under the water of your emotions long enough for your Higher Self to surrender to Divine Orchestration and receive the Abundance of being Joyfully Human?

The answer is—ABSOLUTELY!!!

Now to identify the terms:

Ego

—the mind or who you believe yourself to be in your limited mortal viewpoint as reflected by the limited views of those mortals around you, in other words the personality molded up to this point in your life.

Soul

—the individual essence that is part of the ONE but believes itself to be separate.

Emotion

—water is the key element here, powerful enough to destroy you, absolutely necessary to sustain you. All emotions fall into two camps…the light side being LOVE, the dark side being FEAR.

It’s Not a Hot Flash – It’s a Power Surge!

As the interface between the energy of the environment and the matter of your body, hormones affect everything ~ Your moods, your memory, your metabolism.

Your appearance, your aging, your appetite. Your sleep patterns, your stress response, your sex drive. Everything.

When I refer to hormones, I mean all the body’s messengers—the traditional hormones of the endocrine system, the neurotransmitters of the neurological system and the cytokines of the immune system. All of these act as hormones affecting everything we do, everything we feel, everything we think.

Living in today’s fast paced, high-stressed world of the interminable electric light and too many manmade carbohydrates create havoc with our hormones.

Think of the hormones as the software program of the human computer. Many of us are so Hormonally Challenged that we need a software update!

The neuro-immune-endocrine system is so complicated that I am going to focus on female sex hormones. Fortunately learning about these hormones will provide a foundation to understanding the rest of the system.

Let’s talk about Your Sex Hormones…

How Dis-ease Mirrors Belief

Posted on Updated on

As my expertise grows, my patients become more challenging. A few years ago, I orchestrated the care of a patient with stage IV cancer. When her therapies overwhelmed her, we found solace communicating by email.

Early in our relationship, we shared this correspondence…

“Deborah, you have all these gifts in helping others, it’s truly remarkable to me. You’re intuition is so perceptive and you seem to zoom in on what each person needs, whether it’s physical, spiritual or emotional. I’ve always wanted to go into psychotherapy and my hope and desire is that when I get well I’ll find a new path of helping others, too.

Right now I’m really trying to find that inner peace that comes with a heart-filled faith from God that everything is going to be fine. However, when I feel the enlarged lymph nodes it brings up that fear. I keep listening and watching “The Secret” and tell myself that this is something my body is capable of healing, but fear is an awful thing that keeps popping up. I begin questioning if I’m doing everything I can be doing to get well and then get stressed thinking about that. I pray that in the future when someone hears they have cancer it won’t have the implication that it does today. My dad used to say that cancer is not that different from a common cold. I try to hold onto that thought because when we get a cold we know our bodies will get better and we don’t worry about it other than the unpleasant symptoms.

As with the doctor you had lunch with, I think my emotions are so much more of why I’m not getting well. Even in writing you I get so tearful and I’m not even sure why.

It’s wonderful that you’ve found a way of reaching so many through your book. Do you have any ideas for your next book?

Thanks for listening …. A”

Raise Testosterone Naturally

Posted on Updated on

Testosterone is the hormone of manliness. Yes, women make testosterone too, yet men make much more to achieve the body size, muscle mass, bone density and strength associated with manhood. Low testosterone levels contribute to infertility, loss of lean body mass, increased body fat, moodiness and even hot flashes. Yes, men have hot flashes too.

In men, testosterone is a hormone produced primarily by the testicles. As men age, testosterone levels decline. By age 30, stress, lack of exercise, highly processed foods and exposure to xenoestrogens (synthetic chemicals that have estrogenic effects like those found in pesticides) depletes testosterone levels.

In the past fifteen years the norm for blood levels of testosterone in men has dropped dramatically. Most men have no idea what their testosterone levels were when they were young and virile. By the time they seek medical attention with signs of low testosterone including erectile dysfunction, low libido, loss of muscle mass, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, and rising cholesterol levels, their testosterone has dropped significantly.

In severe cases, bio-identical testosterone replacement therapy can be prescribed by an experienced health practitioner. Yet high doses and continual use will diminish your natural ability to make testosterone.

Thyroiditis – Treating It Naturally

Posted on Updated on

Are you tired, run down, gaining weight? Do you suffer from brain fog, low motivation, insomnia? Finally, after all these years living with a sluggish metabolism has your blood panel revealed low thyroid levels? Or worse yet—Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis?

Thyroiditis is an autoimmune endocrine condition in which the body makes antibodies against its own thyroid hormone production leading to hypothyroidism. Thyroiditis describes an inflamed thyroid. It is often called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis named after the physician who first discovered the condition.  If you suffer from thyroiditis, conventional medicine will offer thyroid replacement therapy, but there are also more natural ways to treat this condition. Fatigue, Moodiness, Insomnia…It’s Your Hormones!

Posted on Updated on

I saw a new patient this week. Barbara complained of lack of energy, insomnia, moodiness.

Barbara’s been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.

She’s on synthetic thyroid hormones, antidepressants, allergy meds.  Her cholesterol is elevated, her blood pressure is low, her heart rate is high. Her skin is dry, her hair is thin and brittle, her eyesight is diminished. She complains of frequent bladder and vaginal infections. Her bowels are irregular and she reacts to many foods she used to love. She’s tried lots of diets but keeps gaining weight. She’s taking so many supplements that it’s a wonder she has an appetite for real food.

Barbara’s seen seven other health care providers. They’ve given her drugs, supplements, diets but nothing works. She’s still tired all the time. She has brain fog. She can’t sleep through the night. And honestly, she looks a lot older than 38.

Does this sound familiar?

Barbara’s my typical patient. First I’ll teach her How Hormones Control Everything.  Remember when I say “hormones” I mean all your biochemical messengers.

Barbara’s hormones are out of balance. That’s why she can’t sleep, has no energy, and is moody. That’s why she can’t lose weight no matter what diet she tries. That’s why she needs antidepressants and allergy mess. Because her hormonal imbalance is affecting her brain and her immunity.

Remember everything’s connected. Here’s how your hormones are interconnected to all the rest of your body functions.

By Dolly Arons on April 2, 2016

This book is packed full of useful information for both men and women. When you read the title, don’t think just sex hormones–estrogen, progesterone, testosterone.

The author is talking about the endocrine system, the immune system, and how the cells in our body interact. Think in terms of the neuro-immune-endocrine system.

This book is easy to read and understand so that we can start on the road to understanding the foundation of why we feel the way we do.

My deepest appreciation for everyone who posted a review.

Please share Hormones in Harmony® with your friends and loved ones so that they might enjoy optimal health too.

Educate not Medicate

Posted on Updated on

I educate rather than medicate.

My focus is on optimal health.

As a Nurse Practitioner, I look at patients through the lens of wellness, not disease. Physicians study pathophysiology, looking at patients through a disease lens. Conventional medicine tends to focus more attention on treating disease than preventing it and very little attention goes towards trying to optimize health.

It was in nursing school that I really got to appreciate the difference between nursing and medicine. At UCLA, we were taught the bio-psycho-social-spiritual assessment of our patients. We learned that health is a continuum. On one end is optimal wellness, on the opposite end, death.

By the time most patients seek health care, they are already past the midline and heading towards the death side of the health continuum. The first step in helping patients move towards the wellness part of the health continuum is to educate them.

My goal is to uncover the root of my patients’ health issues, provide education regarding their disease and how to reverse it, and then to help them achieve their highest state of wellness – optimal health – body, mind, and soul.

Yes, it’s a tall order. But I’ve doing it for three decades. And I do it well. People come from around the world to consult with me.

Yet I can’t help all of them – there’s just too many – which is why I wrote Hormones in Harmony®.

Educate the masses and help them realize their potential.

That’s what I hope for: That by reading my book, you will discover the root of your health issues and how to heal yourself.

Oh, you’ll still need health care providers, both conventional and alternative.

But with the help of my book, you will be better informed and more likely to partner with your health care provider to achieve your health goals.
